Special diagnostics of the retina
Implementation of various special diagnostic methods such as
- Optical coherence tomography (OCT)
- Fluorescein and indocyanine green angiography (invasive diagnostics) to visualize the blood flow in the back of the eye (blood vessels) in real time
- OCT angiography (OCT-A) to visualize the blood flow status of the small capillaries specifically arranged around the visual center (non-invasive) with Heidelberg Engineering Spectralis.
- Photography of the retina with Zeiss Clarus 500 wide-angle real image camera.
Injections into the eye
Outpatient treatment of retinal diseases by intravitreal administration of medication.
For this purpose, we use the operating theaters of the
Augenklinik Pallas Zurich (Limmatstrasse 252, 8005 Zurich)
Cataracts
- Diagnosis of clouding of the lens
- Visual simulation test with retinometer (for a visual prognosis before cataract surgery for retinal diseases)
Glaucoma
Carrying out various examinations for the early detection of glaucoma, such as
- Eye pressure measurement
- Corneal thickness determination with PachPen
- Photo documentation of the optic nerve with Zeiss Clarus 500 real image camera
- Determination of the field of view with Haag-Streit Octopus 900
- Analysis of the optic nerve with optical coherence tomography (OCT; Heidelberg Engineering Spectralis)
Dry eye (sicca) and eyelids
- Care of patients with dry eyes (sicca) and determination of tear secretion with the Schirmer test
- Treatment of eyelid margin inflammation, e.g. sty, chalazion
- Diagnosis of eyelid malpositions, drooping eyelids and bags under the eyes
